Authorised multidisciplinary team for providing advice and VAPH applications
The NMSC is authorised by the Flemish Agency for People with a Disability (Vlaams Agentschap voor Personen met een Handicap – VAPH) to provide advice and applications in the context of Individual Material Assistance (Individuele Materiële Bijstand – IMB) and Personal Financing (Persoonsvolgende Financiering – PVF). If necessary, a grading of the level of care can be performed by authorised ZZI-graders using the level of care instrument (zorgzwaarte instrument – ZZI).
Before a case can be opened, the applicant is invited for a consultation with the rehabilitation specialist. They will look together with the client if the team has the necessary expertise and experience to support the application properly.
To be able to submit a substantiated application, this programme operates along a fixed course with a fixed multidisciplinary team (MDT). For an ‘IMB’ or ‘PVF’ application, each applicant has a consultation with the social services department, occupational therapy, psychology (both clinical and neuropsychological) and rehabilitation specialist. An additional consultation with the speech therapist can also be provided if required.
The consultations take place on fixed days and according to a set pattern which differs depending on whether it is an IMB or PVF application.
