The composition of a multidisciplinary consultation with 3 or 4 disciplines is based on the requests and requirements of the person with MS. The team always includes a neurologist and/or rehabilitation specialist, complemented with therapist(s) who can deal with specific requirements from the person with MS. This could be a social assistant, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, dietician, psychologist and/or nurse.

A recommendation is formulated on the basis of a multidisciplinary consultation. The person with MS can be referred to a more extensive care programme if necessary.

The multidisciplinary consultation with 3 disciplines has been offered to people who consult the NMSC for advice and (medical) monitoring as standard since August 2016.
