Since 2009, the NMSC has had an agreement with the RIZIV for the care and supervision of people with MS or ALS at an advanced stage of the disease. 10 hospital beds are available for this, grouped together in a ward designed for this target group.
Patients can be admitted in this care programme because their physical, cognitive or psychological condition means they do not qualify for an intensive rehabilitation programme (any longer), but who need multidisciplinary monitoring and appropriate care.
There are specific sub-programmes within chronic care that focus on a particular problem for a specific target group. Each of these programmes have specific accents which are adapted to the needs of the target group they have been developed for.
The hospitalisation, medical, pharmaceutical and other costs are charged in accordance with the applicable RIZIV regulations.
The social services department (02 597 86 50) will be happy to help you further.
