The NMSC has signed an agreement for several years with the RIZIV and has 70 outpatient rehabilitation places per day.

Who for?

People with MS and related disorders who want to retain the effects of the treatment for as long as possible following an (intensive) rehabilitation treatment during hospitalisation.

What?

An individually customised multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme, with a minimum of 2.5 hours therapy per day and a maximum of 100 sessions per year. Depending on the indication and places available, 1 or 2 sessions are provided per week.

The rehabilitation programme runs in consultation with and under the supervision of the rehabilitation specialist. Therapy is possible individually or in a group, with participation from physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, (neuro)psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation nurses and podiatrists.

Financial?

The agreement with the RIZIV provides for reimbursement of the treatment costs from the health insurance. Some categories of patients need to pay a small personal share per treatment.

For people who need modified wheelchair transport, the convention also provides for reimbursement of travel costs.
