People with MS with acute medical problems for which a short admission of a few days to a maximum of 2 weeks is required. This can be to learn intermittent bladder catheterisations, for an ITB trial, for modulating medication that needs to be started under medical supervision (e.g. Gilenya), to start Sativex, for intravenous medication, diagnostics, lumbar puncture, etc.
The medical interventions are central to this programme. The doctor coordinates and supervises all the required (medical-technical) examinations and interventions.
There is no standard support provided by the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team in this treatment programme, but this can be discussed if there is an indication to do so.
Both the charging of the costs for the hospitalisation and those for medication and other interventions take place in accordance with the applicable RIZIV regulations.
